What is Qigong?

Qigong

Qigong is movement combined with breath which allows the student to explore and expand their own range of suppleness and relaxation. Through this exploration a gradual building of inner strength, calmness and flexibility can be attained.

There are many kinds of Qigong - health, martial, meditative, medical. In this School, as well as many individual exercises, we teach various set sequences of Qigong :

  • Five Element Form (Wu Xing Shi)
  • Eight Strands of Brocade (Ba Duan Jin)
  • Eighteen Movements (Shibashi)
  • Tendon Strengthen Exercise (Yi Jin Jing)
  • Vancouver Set

see Syllabus for more info

The Qigong class is ongoing and each set is taught over a period of eight to twelve weeks. The aim of this class is to give you the opportunity to experience our approach and to learn something that can be of benefit in a busy world without having to commit to a regular weekly class over a long period.
