“When I attended my first Taiji class in 1981 my motives were simply to learn how to keep people away. I didn't realise at the time that this attitude would only compound my shyness and fear.
It wasn't very long before I discovered these arts weren’t about fighting, but rather how to not-fight; to use the principles to understand how to deal with conflicts both internal and external.”

Alec is the Founder of Dragon Spring Taiji School. He is registered as a senior teacher with the Tai Chi Union for Great Britain and continues to study with his first teacher, Richard Farmer, (Founder of Rising Dragon Tai Chi School) as well learning from other teachers in Britain and China.

Alec also offers sessions for individuals and small groups in South Shropshire (click
here for details). Alec has been teaching Taiji and Qigong since 1984, and running regular weekly classes in Birmingham since 1986.

Please contact us if you have any questions or would like more details of anything on offer at Dragon Spring Taiji.

Alec teaches Taiji in Kings Heath and Bournvlle, and Qigong in Moseley.

"I've always learnt a lot from Alec's teaching. As well as his good humor and deep understanding of Taiji, it strikes me that when he teaches Form he just teaches Form and so teaches so much more."

Testimonial
"I joined Jon’s Taiji class 5 months ago (June 2010) and was slightly nervous as I had never done anything like this before. I shouldn’t have worried as by the end of the class I felt so relaxed and calm and knew I would be going back.

Taiji has benefited me in a positive way as I have become more mindful of my body and breathing and my sleep has become more restful.

I also enjoy the social aspect of the class as everyone is very supportive of each other which is a refreshing aspect for me too."
